     Celltalk 0.1a

This is the home page for Celltalk !

Sofomo as part of its contribution to the open-source community sponsored Celltalk.

The contributors/developers are a group of highly talented and committed interns guided by the team at Sofomo.

Celltalk is an open source VoIP Jabber client. It was selected as a project task because of the open nature of its base library "libjingle" and also because of the dearth of a Gtalk kind of VoIP client for Linux.

Celltalk is currently working for Linux desktops and concurrently for an ARM-based Linux mobile phone. It has been extensively showcased on Intel’s futuristic ultra-portable platform called the MID.

The broad goal of the project is to allow VoIP communication between Linux mobile internet users by providing an open interface.

Celltalk's design architecture is purely generic. Developers can develop GUI front end in their toolkit of choice and integrate it with the Celltalk backend through Inter-Process communication (IPC) calls.

Celltalk is also available as an enhancement to Moblin-Chat (text messenger on Intel's MID platform) making it voice-chat capable for gtalk users.

Celltalk also comes handy as a plugin for PIDGIN.
